Youth Advisory Board: Drive Positive Change and Influence Local Policy

Are you passionate about creating positive change and addressing the root causes of violence among young people in our city? Do you want to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to making a real impact? If so, we invite you to join the Youth Advisory Board!

As a member of our Youth Advisory Board, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in Focus Groups: Share your insights and help shape initiatives that directly affect young people.
  • Influence Local Policy: Work with policymakers to create solutions that address the challenges faced by our youth.
  • Develop Leadership Skills: Gain valuable experience and training that will enhance your personal and professional growth.
  • Volunteer in Diverse Settings: Engage in various volunteer opportunities that align with your interests and passions.
  • Pathways into Learning: Access educational resources and opportunities to further your knowledge and skills.
  • Initiate Change: Identify and work on projects that can make a difference in the lives of other young people.

Our mission is to tackle the causes of violence among young people, which we believe are multifaceted. These causes include deprivation, unmet learning needs, challenges in communication, school exclusion, family conflict, homelessness, mental health issues, the impact of social media, and discrimination.

We are proud to have Joshua N Jeranyama and Merit Ugwa as the co-chairs of our Youth Advisory Board. Their dedication and leadership will guide our efforts in making meaningful change.

We need young people aged 15 to 25 to help us define our initiatives and share information. Your voice matters, and together, we can create a safer, more supportive environment for all.
